Kathleen Marie Best, 88, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Kathleen was born on April 15, 1933 in Waterloo, Iowa to George and Hattie Jenness. She grew up in Heron, MT and graduated from Clark Fork High School.
Kathleen married John Best on May 24, 1951 in Coeur d’Alene, ID. They made their home in Ellensburg, WA, where she worked as a CNA. She was a member of the Moose Legion in Ellensburg until 1978, when they moved back to Sandpoint and she cared for John’s parents until they passed away. She was a CNA at Odd Fellows Plaza for many years, and later worked at Michigan Greenhouse after retiring from being a caregiver. She enjoyed flowers, her family, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter Pamela Vance of Summerville, SC; son Terry Best of Sagle, ID; nine grandchildren Bonita Best of Ellensburg, WA, Mike (Sarah) Best of Kittitas, WA, Jason Hetrick of Sagle, Joanne Ames of Sandpoint, Nicole Hetrick of Summerville, SC, Marie Hetrick of Spokane, Matthew Hetrick of Spokane, Charlene Still (James) of Spokane, and Stephen (Sarah) Best of Yakima, WA; 17 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Best, son John Best Jr, sister Maxine, and three brothers Don, Roy and Bob.
