Brian Dale Casey, 52, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Viewing for friends and family will be held from 4-6 pm on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday November 15, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sandpoint with Pastor Andy Kennaly officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery with a reception at the Sandpoint Elks Lodge.
Brian was born May 12, 1969 in Boise, Idaho to Douglas and Elizabeth (Jones) Casey. Brian attended Salmon schools graduating from Salmon High School in the class of 1987, where he served various offices including Senior Class President.
Brian attended the University of Idaho where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and served as ASUI Senator completing his undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1991. He received his master’s degree in education from Washington State University in 1994.
Brian returned to Salmon after graduation and was employed by the Lemhi County Juvenile Detention program, Child Development Center and the Joshua Smith Foundation working with the area’s youth.
In 2005, Brian moved to Sandpoint to be closer to his family and worked in the elder care industry and facilitated an Alzheimer’s Support Group. He was currently employed by Hearthstone Village Assisted Living.
Brian was a member of The First Presbyterian Church having served as a Deacon. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Salmon B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1620, and was a member of Sandpoint B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1376.
He loved music, good food and good coffee. He was also a fan of rock concerts and Star Wars.
His greatest joy in life was being “Uncle Brian” to Tyler, Jaidyn, Brian, Brandon and Sarah Casey and great uncle to 3 year old Paislee. Brian enjoyed any activity that his nieces and nephews were involved in and could be seen on the sideline of many sporting events cheering them on.
Brian is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Casey of Meridian, Idaho; brothers, Bart (Anne Marie) of Sandpoint; Brett (Melissa) of Oak Harbor, Washington; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Doug Casey.
