March 22, 1927 - May 30, 2020
Arlene Anne Haddad, 93, died peacefully on Saturday May 30, 2020 in Sandpoint Idaho with her loving daughters by her side.
Arlene was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 22, 1927 to Elizabeth & Jim Hood. She married her sweetheart Robert Haddad and they lived together in Muskegon, Michigan where they raised their three children Charles, Susan, and Marilyn.
Arlene and Robert shared a wonderful life together filled with fun days sailing on Lake Michigan. In 1974 they flew to England where they bought and lived on a 26 ft. sailboat which they named Aroha. For a year they travelled through France and Spain together, sharing some unique and exciting adventures which she loved to recall to family and friends. In 1982 they had a second grand adventure when they sailed their boat from Muskegon, Michigan to Palmetto, Florida. Arlene wrote articles for the local newspaper sharing the highlights of this trip as a special writer. Once in Florida they spent several enjoyable years sailing in the Gulf of Mexico and Terra Ceia Bay.
Throughout her long life, Arlene loved to learn and had a special passion for philosophy. She also enjoyed journaling and discussing world affairs and spiritual thought.
After her husband Robert passed away in 1997, Arlene moved to Sandpoint to be near her children. She lived in Sandpoint for over 20 years and truly appreciated the beauty and peace of North Idaho.
Arlene was predeceased by her husband Robert and her son Charles, who died in 2006. She is survived by her daughters Susan Prez and Marilyn Haddad (Dave Hussey), as well as her five grandchildren: Joseph King, Lisa Mustard, Mariano Barajas, Jonah Haddad and Ben Prez as well as many great grandchildren.
We will remember our dear mother Arlene with much love and appreciation for all she gave us and taught us about the true meaning and purpose of life.
