Toby, Linda, and Jim, My prayers for comfort and healing as you lean to say goodbye to a brother…we were blessed to be neighbors with all the “Carlsons” In the Moran addition during high school. Tom was a great friend to me and I always respected his wit, abilities , and there was always a good laugh. I was most thankful to hear he loved the Lord and it gives me great joy to know he is with Jesus🙏❤️ God’s perfect healing for Tom, all in His timing. My love to you all❤️‍🩹

When I heard about Tom passing it makes me sad that we lose our classmates. But what is sad is that I never stayed in touch with him. He lived a full life and is now enjoying a new peace. God Blessed him in life and God loves him in heaven. May his family find joy that he was a good soul to all.

Dear Toby and Carlson Families, We are so saddened by the news of Tom's passing. Brian knew Tom in high school and shared an apartment in college at U of I. We stayed in intermittent contact over the years and visited with him a few times when we traveled back to Sandpoint and Hope for various reasons, remembering his cat Cheetah, and "the good old days" when a quart of beer cost 79 cents at Circle K! There was nothing better than hanging out with him on his house boat and watching the sun set across the lake on a pleasant summer evening. We were also thinking of how their group of HS/college friends is shrinking... Tom is now the 6th of a group of 12 friends to have passed over the years - We hope they are enjoying games of HiLow and Crazy 8s together again! We send our Condolences to you, as well as our regrets that we are unable to attend his service. So Long, Old Friend, Until we meet again.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Tom was a high school classmate and I attended the University of Idaho with him. Shared a house one year. We had some good times. After graduation we lost contact with each other.

Toby and Jim, I was overwhelmed and saddened to learn this horrible news. Though Tom and I lost touch in the last few years—in fact that was the way our friendship existed: short spurts of contact followed by long periods of no contact—our 50 year on and off contact did not diminish my regard for and love of him and our time together. For me our time together was magic. No one holds a candle to his lightening wit, unbounded intelligence, and searing sense of humor. His death has left me empty but in time I’ll fill the void with all of my memories of him from my early college days listening to music in his trailer to hanging on the house boat in Hope. At this moment it is impossible for me to find a smile even as I remember the laughter I shared with Tom but in time I know it will come, as I know it will for you as well. I am so very sorry for your loss and in a smaller way, I’m sure, my own. Be well, Rob
