Peggy Joy Thurlow 85, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021, in Sandpoint, ID. A celebration will be held at a later date.
Peggy was born in Dover, ID on August 18, 1936, the daughter of Harry and Dorothea Walker and the eighth of fourteen children. Peggy grew up in Sandpoint where she attended schools, babysat during her teen years, and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1956.
Peggy married Rodney James Thurlow on Oct 27, 1956, in Coeur d’Alene, she helped her husband Rod for many years at the gas station running errands and raising 4 girls. Peggy worked at the Sandpoint Laundry, IGA, Warehouse Market, the school lunch program, and then for Encoder Products in September 1984, retiring at the age 75.
Peggy really enjoyed watching her grandchildren play all sports, whether she was rooting on the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Seattle Seahawks, or the Mariners it didn’t matter she loved them all. She enjoyed going down to War Memorial field and watching high school sports.
Peggy was a long-time member of the Eagles and enjoyed going and listening to music and visiting with everyone. She loved going to bingo and enjoyed playing games with her kids and grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her four daughters Roxane Jensen of Coeur d’Alene, Kellie and Mike Kenna of Post Falls, Rhonda Thurlow and Norm Lippert of Sandpoint, Ann and Andy Reinhofer of Richland, WA; 6 grandchildren Bobbie Jo (Wade) Burnett of Sandpoint, Jimmie Jensen of Coeur d’Alene, Ashley (Anthony) Salas of Post Falls, Tara (Charles) Diemart of Boise, Stephanie (Ryan) Morton of Kansas City, MO, Harlee (Jakob) Barken of Coeur d’Alene; 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by five sisters Joyce Hartley, Betty Gonnason, Pat (Clayton) Russell, Nancy (Gary) Peiffer, and Phyllis (Bill) Loftis; and sister in law Francis Walker.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Rod, her parents, and 4 brothers, 4 sisters.
