Joyce Iola (Walker) Hartley, 90, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6. 2021 at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint.
Joyce was born to Harry and Dorotha (Fee) Walker on July 4, 1931, in Burke, South Dakota. Joyce was number four of fourteen children. The Walker family moved to Sandpoint when she was four years old
Joyce attended Sandpoint schools, and worked downtown at Taft’s store. She was also a member of F.O.E. Sandpoint Aeries 589
Joyce married Leonard (Gene) Hartley on November 14, 1948 in Superior, MT. They were married 48 years and had three daughters, Debbie, Janna and Jill. They raised their family in Sandpoint as well as Polson, MT.
Survived by her daughters, Deborah (Chester) Schilling, St. Maries, ID, Janna (Mark) Hull, Sandpoint, ID, Jill (Glen) Harrod, Tampa, FL. Grandchildren, Ben (Lindsey) Schilling Post Falls, ID, Laci (Schilling) Brian St. John, St. Maries, ID, Matthew (Kelsey) Hull, Spirit Lake, ID, Cody (Abby) Hull, Post Falls, ID. Great Grandchildren, Reily & Canon St. John, St. Maries, ID, Reed & Landon Schilling, Post Falls, ID, Isla and Ivy Hull, Spirit Lake, ID, twins- Jaxson and Wyatt Hull, Post Falls, ID. Sisters, Betty Gonnason, Pat Russell, Nancy Peiffer, Phyllis Loftis, sister-in-law Francis Walker; and brother-In-Law-Robert Hartley. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard (Gene) Eugene Hartley, parents Harry and Dorotha (Fee) Walker. Brothers Herbert, Milton, Warren and Ronald Walker, Sisters- Naoma Nelson, Barbara Fister, Caroline Jacobson, Ruth Beyer and Peggy Thurlow. Sister-In-Law-Leilani Hartley.
