As a senior at Monterey High School in 1964 and very focused on becoming an architect, I was selected by my Drafting Teacher to serve as an intern my senior year with Joe Wythe and then worked for him that summer. This was very valuable and significant to work with an architect at the very beginning of my career, and this experience opened many doors for me in the future. I went on to graduate in the School of Architecture at Cal Poly SLO, and have been a partner at JHW Architects in Monterey for 49 years, and sole owner for the last 20 years. Thank you Joe for the significant boost and mentoring you provided to me! www.jhwarch.com.

Joe was a wonderful, talented and peace filled man. I very much enjoyed talking with Joe when we both belong to the Sandpoint Rotary Club. He and Lois were so involved in the community and made the world a better place. I wish there were many more people who lived their lives like Joe Wythe. I am glad I knew him.

I will always remember Joe and Lois. I lived in Sandpoint from 1987-1996 and took gardening lessons from Lois. The home Joe designed for them at Unicorn Farm was amazing. They were inspiring in their life and the way they loved us all. I'm blessed to have known them. My sincerest condolences to their family.

Joe, You were such a gracious and giving human being. I am so thankful for your friendship and words of wisdom. I will always cherish the several visits to the Unicorn Farm. I will always remember the day when you allowed to Kitties to come and romp all over the Unicorn Farm, they loved exploring the roof and all the beautiful grounds. You and Lois left a huge impact in this world that will be felt for decades to come. Rest in Peace my friend. Bala--
