Joyce Eunice Knaggs, 89, gifted her spirit back to the Heavens to be with her Lord and Savior on the evening of Friday, September 13, 2019.  She is in a better place now.

Eunice was born June 29, 1930 to Edna Pearl and Robert Clayton Foster.  She was the sixth of seven children.  Eunice was a devout Christian, a wonderful mother and grandmother and the kind of person that would give of her time to make other’s lives better.

Eunice attended Sandpoint area schools, graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1948.  She was married to Paul Knaggs on May 21, 1948 and they were married for fifty five years until his passing in 2003. She was a truly dedicated loving wife and the mother of five children.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of which she was an Ordained Deacon and Elder.  She sang in the Church Choir for years, selected as the featured Soprano Soloist and also the Director of the Junior Choir.

Eunice was the Chairperson for the Idaho Republican Women’s Committee which she worked countless hours for many years.  She also volunteered with the Bonner General Hospital Auxiliary.

Her passions were music, her rose garden and sewing, as a very accomplished seamstress.   She was an excellent cook and never met a dessert she didn’t like.   But it was her voice that brought joy and peace to so many.  She also enjoyed traveling here and abroad.  Making trips to several European Countries with family members, and a spiritual visit to Jerusalem and the Holy Land with her Mother.

Eunice will always be remembered for her hard work, her mental and physical toughness, her music and laughter, but most of all, her unwavering love for family and God.  She will be missed.

Eunice is survived by her children; Susan (Jerry) Gazdik, Karen (Fred) Mueller, Jack Knaggs and Patty Knaggs, thirteen grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dean Knaggs, a son Thomas Eugene Knaggs, both her parents and all of her siblings, Eugene, Alton, Lloyd, Marietta Foster, Aletha Shields and Beth Maxwell.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Sandpoint on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 am.
