Clayton Cecile Durham, 92, died November 25, 2018 at home in Clark Fork, ID from complications of CHF, he was under the care of hospice. His funeral will be held on December 6, 2018 at 11:00 am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Clark Fork, ID located on Stephens Street.

Interment will follow at the Pack River Cemetery.

Clayton was born October 11, 1926 in Fine, St Lawrence Co., New York. Clay was the fourth child and second son of eleven children born to Ceylon and Celia (Hamilton) Durham.

Clay grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York. He only went to school through the eighth grade but later in life earned an AA degree.

Clay was married first to Gladys Hunter and they had four children. After Gladys’s death he married Alene Horsley. Later he married Mary Milotz.

Clay had numerous jobs throughout his life. He was a miner in upstate New York; drove a bus in Buffalo, New York and after moving to Southern California, learned the carpenter trade. He worked in construction, leaning the cement trade.

His hobbies were hunting, fishing, riding his ATV and church activities. At the age of 80 he was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In addition to his parents Clay was preceded in death by two brothers Martin and Donald Durham; four sisters Mildred Hubbard, Keitha Webb, Marie Permelee, Hazel Van Denburg; two children Diana Bills and Arthur M. Durham.

He is survived by his wife Mary; sister Marguerite Traver; three brothers Vernon, Cy Ceylon (Yvonne), and Edward (Carol) Durham; two daughters Joan (Dean) Forrey and Linda Johnson; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved visiting every year at the family reunion.
