August 2, 1946 - March 1, 2021
William “Bill” Scott Lewis, 74, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 in Sandpoint, Idaho. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel at 301 S. Olive Ave with a reception to follow in the North Summit Church, north building gymnasium.
Bill was born on August 2, 1946 in McMinnville, Oregon to James and Doris Lewis. He grew up in Utah, where he graduated from high school and attended two years of college before moving to Southern California. Anaheim, CA provided him with the opportunity to try out a few different jobs, such as a body guard, working for an envelope company and finding his career as a truck driver.
His first marriage to Debra Bennet produced two sons, Brandon and Richard. Bill later met and married Nancy Miller, becoming a stepfather to her two children Terri and Daniel. Bill and Nancy moved to North Idaho in 2002, where they built a house in Cocolalla, and later moved to Kootenai.
Bill enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors, whether it was from the seat of a four wheeler or a boat, the fresh air and the beautiful views attracted him. Also, Bill loved to spend time with his family and friends Barbecuing on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille. Bill was a major sports fan who enjoyed watching and rooting for the Packers, the Angels, and his favorite NASCAR drivers. He was a member of the Lions club for several years, serving as president, flag chairman and working with the toys for tots. The Lions honored Bill by presenting him with a Melvin Jones Award. Bill was a member of the North Summit Church, who after accepting the saving grace of his Lord and Savior, decided to be baptized three weeks before he was called home to heaven.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Lewis; Sons Brandon Lewis, Richard Lewis and Daniel Mosses; daughter Terri (Bob) Finney; grandchildren Wyatt, Savanah, Torvi, Emily and Devyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Yvonne.
Donations in Bill’s honor can be made to the Sandpoint Lions Club.
